A bout a week after their launch in India, HTC Desire 12 and HTC Desire 12+ will go on sale starting today. The two mid-range smartphones will be available online via the HTC India e-store.
HTC Desire 12 and Desire 12+ are priced at Rs 15,800 and Rs 19,790 respectively. The new smartphones were up for pre-order from June 7.
HTC Desire 12 is powered by a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT6739 processor. The device runs Android-based HTC Sense. It comes in two different storage variants – 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage.
The smartphone features a 5.5-inch HD+IPS LCD display of 720×1440 pixels resolution. On the camera front, HTC Desire 12 sports a 13MP rear module of f/2.2 aperture with face-detection Autofocus, HDR mode, BSI sensor, etc and a 5MP front MP sensor of F/2.4 aperture.
HTC Desire 12+, on the other hand, is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with HTC Sense on top. The smartphone comes with a 6-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio.
The new device comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. The storage can be expanded upto 2TB through micro SD card support.
As far as the camera is concerned, HTC Desire 12 Plus features a dual rear camera setup of 13MP+2MP with Bokeh mode, face detection and panorama mode. There is an 8MP front BSI camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture.
Connectivity options available on both the phones include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Strangely, HTC Desire does not feature a fingerprint sensor, while HTC Desire 12+ comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
