WhatsApp is developing a new component called “Community home” in order to better organise groups. In that community page, users will be able to list all of the relevant groups. Although not yet available to the general public, the feature will be included in the next WhatsApp for Android beta update. This addition, which has been in the works for months, will allow users a new option to organise various groups in the platform.
According to WhatsApp beta tracker WABetaInfo, the Community Home was mentioned in WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.22.4.1. WhatsApp would use Community Home as a component to organise various groups, according to a screenshot. A tool to edit a specific community from the section will also be available.
WhatsApp hasn’t said how the Community Home Section will be used. The future, on the other hand, is still in development and need more testing before being made available to all consumers. Group admins will have more control over their groups with this feature. However, the feature cannot be utilised as a stand-alone messaging place. The page’s sole purpose is to bring together relevant groups.
WhatsApp’s recent beta release introduced two new localizations: Amharic (an Afro-Asian language) and Somali (the official language of Somalia, Somaliland, and Ethiopia). In total, the software now supports over 40 languages.
