Home Android App
WhatsApp will stop supporting some iPhones and Android devices by 2021. The messaging app will stop
functioning on older iPhones and  Android devices and not on new phones. Don’t worry now. Help for smartphones that use obsolete operating systems will mainly be terminated by WhatsApp. WhatsApp will not operate on devices
that are not running iOS 9 or Android 4.0.3 operating systems if reports are to be believed.

As announced, starting in 2021, iPhones that do not run on iOS 9 will not be able to use WhatsApp on their phones.

Both iPhone 4 and earlier versions are included in the iPhone models. However, if you have an iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6S, if you want to continue using WhatsApp, you will have to upgrade
your phone to iOS 9 or later.

You can upgrade your first generation iPhone 6S, 6 Plus, and iPhone SE to iOS 14.

Similarly, Android devices that don’t have Android 4.0.3 will lose WhatsApp access. Models such as HTC Desire, LGOptimus Black, Motorola Droid Razr, and the Samsung Galaxy S2 are included. There could be several other phoneswith Android that could lose WhatsApp support in 2021.

However, you can go to the settings to check if you don’t know which operating system your iPhone or Android
phone is running on. If you are an iPhone user, for instance, go to Settings > General > Information. You can search your iPhone’s device information there. Similarly, you can go to Settings > About Phone when you are an Android
user.

So now you can do it for those who have the option of upgrading their phones to the new apps. But for those who
don’t have the option of upgrading their apps, in order to access WhatsApp on their phones, they’ll have to get a newphone.

On a similar note, WhatsApp has recently received a bunch of new features. WhatsApp rolled out WhatsApp
Payments recently. Using the Unified Payment Interface (UPI), and India-first, a real time payment system that allows transactions with over 160 supported banks, WhatsApp has collaborated with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). WhatsApp has collaborated with leading banks, such as ICICI
Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, State Bank of India and Jio Payments Bank, for Indian users. The functionality was
rolled out to users of Android and iOS.

In addition, WhatsApp has introduced Custom Wallpapers, WhatsApp carts, Always Silent, Messages Disappearing, and many other features.Source : indiatoday.in
